Bio
Dr Lukas Kleine-Rueschkamp is the Head of Unit for Local Employment and Skills at the OECD, where he coordinates all empirical work, labour market analysis and policy work on subnational employment, skills, and job creation. At the OECD, Lukas has been managing projects on the future of work in the light of AI, the green transition and demographic change, local skills development and employment policies, adult learning systems, the labour market integration of migrants and the drivers and effects of urbanisation. Before joining the OECD, Lukas worked in the private sector, for international organisations, and in academia. His research focuses on a wide range of topics in labour economics, development economics and regional development, including the impact of technology on jobs, the labour market integration of migrants, urbanisation, and the socio-economic relevance of political institutions in developing countries. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics at the University of Bonn, a Master of Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford. Lukas speaks English, French, German and Spanish.
